Frankfurt Detour | Side Trails
Throwing it back to an earlier Side Trails adventure this year, the Frankfurt Detour.
This Side Trails excursion took place during a layover as Mark was en route to South Africa, to join the @globalconservationforce and @blakemoynes in their vital efforts with anti-poaching. Frankfurt presented the perfect opportunity to Real-World Test Baffin’s EASTERN lifestyle boot.
Although the weather was overcast with intermittent rain, it created an ideal setting for a practical test of #Baffin’s EASTERN. Mark was able to venture out into Frankfurt, taking in the city’s unique blend of modernity and history, all while putting the boots through their paces. This wasn’t just a test of durability—it was about experiencing the boot in the type of conditions it was designed for, exploring the city on foot, and enjoying all that Frankfurt has to offer.

Side Trails: Journey to the 111th Grey Cup in BC 🏈
Baffin’s incredible journey to the 111th Grey Cup has officially come to a close, marking the end of an exciting and unforgettable Side Trails adventure. To cap off this thrilling experience, we embarked on an epic hike from Cleveland Dam, where we Real-World TestedTM both current and upcoming Baffin products. The real-world testing didn’t stop after the Cleveland Dam hike; it continued throughout the weekend at various Grey Cup Festival events and during the Grey Cup game itself.
The dynamic weather of Vancouver provided a diverse and unpredictable backdrop, with everything from rain to sunshine and strong winds. This wide range of conditions made for a truly unique and valuable Real-World Testing environment, allowing us to rigorously evaluate both our expedition gear and lifestyle products. The combination of natural challenges and exciting festival activities made this adventure an exceptional opportunity to assess the performance and durability of our products in some of the most demanding conditions.

Baffin’s inaugural media event in Vancouver, BC, combined thrilling Real-World Testing and an exciting product presentation, creating an unforgettable day. The event kicked off with a hike along the picturesque Cleveland Dam loop, where media, influencers, and friends of the brand had the opportunity to Real-World Test Baffin product. Despite a week of rain, the event day greeted us with sunny skies and damp terrain—ideal for experiencing Baffin’s gear in action.
Following the outdoor adventure, attendees were treated to a delicious lunch, featuring an engaging product presentation, an exclusive preview of Baffin’s upcoming Terrain Collection, and an empowering presentation by Baffin ambassador, @connor.emeny. Side Trails: Journey to the 111th Grey Cup in Winnipeg 🏈
The second last stop on Baffin’s Journey to the 111th Grey Cup Side Trails segment took Mark to Winnipeg, home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The city’s stunning outdoor scenery made for an unforgettable adventure. Mark took on the Bois-des-esprits Trail, where he enjoyed the crisp fall air, vibrant autumn leaves, and beautifully carved wooden sculptures along the way.
As part of this journey, Mark has been Real-World Testing Baffin’s latest prototype boots in a variety of conditions, ensuring the technology lives up to customer needs. With just one more stop in BC before the Grey Cup, you won’t want to miss the final segment.

The final day of Baffin’s Icelandic Voyage - Side Trails segment brought the team into the heart of Iceland’s wild beauty, with an unforgettable exploration of a glacier and a hike through the stunning Barnafoss waterfall . As they navigated the challenging terrain and varying trail conditions, Baffin’s gear continued to prove its worth. The new and upcoming Terrain Collection, surpassed expectations across Iceland’s rugged landscape.
Designed for an array of conditions, the Terrain Collection stood up to the unpredictable elements of Iceland—snow, ice, and rock—with ease. Their advanced anti-slip technology provided exceptional grip, allowing the team to traverse icy paths without the need for crampons, even in the ice caves and on the glacier itself.

Icelandic Voyage | Side Trails - Day 2
Day 2 began with an adventurous hike through the stunning Reykjadalur Valley, famous for its natural hot springs. The group set out under unpredictable weather conditions, with a mix of rain, sunshine, snow, and even hail. This dynamic weather provided another ideal opportunity to Real-World Test Baffin’s current and upcoming products.
Among the gear being tested were Baffin’s winter 2025 GAITERS, designed for rugged terrain and a variety weather of conditions. The team put them through their paces, experiencing first-hand how the products perform under challenging elements. With each shift in weather, the gear proved to be both durable and reliable, standing up to the unpredictable conditions of the day.
After a rewarding day of exploration, the team relaxed by slipping off their hiking boots and into the cozy comfort of Baffin’s Hybrid Slippers or PATIO CLOG slides. The evening concluded with a soothing soak in the Secret Lagoon, a tranquil geothermal pool surrounded by nature followed by a well deserved “apres” in #Baffin’s lifestyle footwear.
